International organization MIPI Alliance launches SoundWire, a comprehensive audio interface for mobile and related devices

21ic News MIPI Alliance announced today the MIPI Alliance's first member conference in Shanghai, China and "MIPI Open Day" announced the release of its latest audio interface specification - SoundWire. This newly released specification applies to loudspeakers, microphones and audio encoders on smartphones, tablets, mobile computers and other devices.

MIPI SoundWire combines the key attributes of the audio interfaces in many existing mobile and PC industries into a comprehensive, scalable architecture for audio and control data transmission. Organizations can use specifications to meet integration with specific systems as needed. More than 25 audio technology ecosystem companies are involved in the development of MIPI SoundWire, including audio peripherals, electronic design automation, chip vendors and OEMs.

“We are very pleased that so many companies are able to participate in the development of SoundWire. It is because of the broad-based participation that the MIPI Alliance can bring SoundWire, a groundbreaking and mature specification, to the market to meet the urgent needs of the industry. The ever-evolving and diverse needs," said Joel Huloux, Chairman of the MIPI Alliance Board of Directors. “SoundWire's R&D process has prompted many companies to join the MIPI Alliance, and we are delighted by their strong interest in MIPI SoundWire, their expectations for MIPI membership, and their proactive participation in normative R&D.”

The MIPI Alliance's approval for SoundWire is in progress and the entire process is expected to be completed by the end of 2014. Products based on MIPI SoundWire are already in development, and the commercialization of SoundWire-based IP, chip prototypes and test tools is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

Although MIPI SoundWire is still under review, the MIPI Alliance has announced its key features and implementation advantages. MIPI SoundWire is a hardware interface and transport protocol. It provides a scalable, simple, low-power, low-latency, dual-lead (clock and data) multipoint bus that can be used to transport multiple audio streams with embedded control commands. Organizations can leverage specifications to add intelligence to audio peripherals, increase the number of auxiliary devices attached to the link, and optimize implementation without compromising product cost, lead count, power consumption, software complexity, or critical audio metrics. MIPI SoundWire provides built-in synchronization and optional multi-channel expansion, plus PCM, PDM, multi-channel data, quasi-synchronous and non-synchronous modes.

The scalability and flexibility of the new specification will allow designers to speed time to market for new audio systems. MIPI SoundWire can support more advanced loudspeakers and microphones. This specification can be used to optimize speaker protection, microphone power and performance, noise cancellation, and long listening audio input. It has unprecedented capabilities to make new use cases possible. The innovative design of MIPI SoundWire enhances the convergence of technology between device categories.

"The barriers between mobile phones, tablets and computers are gradually closing, but until now, standardized audio interfaces have been customized to specific market segments," said Mohamad El-Hage, vice chairman of the MIPI Alliance Low-Speed Multipoint Link Working Group. “The fragmentation of the market has made it difficult for companies to design cross-category products. The MIPI SoundWire was developed to provide a common interface to meet these challenges.”

El-Hage also emphasizes that MIPI SoundWire is designed and developed by designers to achieve common interests. “It's the result of the joint efforts of many great designers, and we hope that SoundWire is a great interface specification,” says El-Hage. “With the advice of hardware and software product integration engineers, MIPI SoundWire embeds built-in self-test and fault cancellation capabilities.”

The MIPI Alliance provides MIPI SoundWire as a complementary specification to MIPI SLIMbus, a solution that supports a wide range of digital audio and control solutions between large-size originals such as processors and modems in mobile terminals. Transfer audio between. With fewer gates, MIPI SoundWire can be embedded in smaller, cost-sensitive audio aids such as amplifiers and microphones. MIPI SoundWire can coexist with MIPI SLIMbus or non-MIPI interfaces via a bridge link scheme.

LCD Power Meter Socket

Power Meter is a monitoring and testing instrument which determines the power consumption of a connected appliance and the cost of the electricity consumed.
Built-in 3.6V rechargeable Batteries ( . The purpose of the batteries is to store the total electricity and memory setting
Resetting
If an abnormal display appears or the buttons produce no response, the instrument must be reset. To do this,
press the RESET button.
Display Mode
Entire LCD can be displayed for about 1 minute and then it automatically gets into Model. To transfer from
one mode to the other, press the FUNCTION button.
Mode 1: Time/Watt/Cost Display Display duration(how long) this device connect to power source.LCD on first line shows 0:00 with first two figures mean minutes(2 figures will occur while occur at 10 min) and the rest shows seconds. After 60mins, it displays 0:00 again with first two numbers meas hour(2 figures will occur at 10hours)and the rest shows minutes. The rest can be done in the same manner which means after 24 hours, it will re-caculate. LCD on second line displays current power which ranges in 0.0W 〜 9999W. LCD on third line displays the current electricity costs which ranges in O.Ocost 〜 9999cost. It will keep on O.OOcost before setting rate without other figures.
Mode 2: Time/Cumulative electrical quantity Display Display duration(how long) this device connect to power source.
LCD on first line shows 0:00 with first two figures mean minutes(2 figures will occur while occur at 10 min) and the rest shows seconds. After 60mins, it displays 0:00 again with first two numbers meas hour(2 figures will occur at 10hours)and the rest shows minutes. The rest can be done in the same manner which
means after 24 hours, it will re-caculate. LCD on second line displays current cumulative electrical quantity which ranges in 0.000KWH 〜 9999KWH without other figures. LCD on third line displays"DAY"- "1 'Will be showed on numerical part(the other three figures will be showed at carry) which means it has cumulated electrical quantity for 24hours(one day). The rest can be done in the same manner untill the maximal cumulative time of 9999 days.
Mode 3: TimeA^bltage/Frequency Display LCD on first line displays the same as Mode 1 dones. LCD on second line displays current voltage supply (v) which ranges in 0.0V 〜 9999V .LCD on third line displays current frequency (HZ) which ranges in 0.0HZ 〜 9999Hz without other figures.
