Audi R8 officially became the first car to fully adopt LED light source headlights

Topic: Industry German car manufacturer Audi said that the company will be the world's first car manufacturer to produce full LED light source headlights. The new car headlights of the new sports car Audi R8 are all LED light source products. The EU has issued a special approval for Audi's application of LED headlights, agreeing to integrate LED technology into the production of automotive headlamps.

Audi pointed out that since the official regulations of the European Union were not expected to be released in 2008, this special license allowed Audi to integrate LED technology into the production line of the depot, and the entire production process is already underway.

Previously at the Auto Show in Paris, France, the Audi R8 with LED headlights has been displayed in front of the facade. At that time, many industry experts did not expect LED headlamps to be used in mass-produced vehicles before 2009.

In the automotive industry, LEDs were first used in 1992, initially for third-hand lights, and later with taillights and brake lights.

Audi believes that the car factory will be the first car manufacturer to fully use LED products in the headlights for vehicles. The LED headlights for the R8 are the daytime headlights, the direction headlights, the high beam lights, and the main car headlights. The use of LED is a feat of the industry. The Lexus LS600 series, which was previously introduced by the Japanese car manufacturer Toyota, uses LEDs as the headlights for vehicles. It is not comprehensive, and its high beam is still halogen.

According to the product life of the LED, the LED headlights of the LED light source have a service life even longer than the general design life of the automobile. Audi officially introduced the LED light source to all the automotive headlamp applications of the R8. It can be said that it is the door to the automotive market with Toyota officially opening high-brightness and high-power LED light source.
