Shanghai university students invented the "8-word dance" urban lighting system


If our technology is extended to the whole country, the amount of electricity saved in one year will reach the sum of the power generation of the nine Three Gorges hydropower stations in one year. A team of college students in Shanghai who are about to participate in the Challenge Cup National College Student Entrepreneurship Competition will make such a rhetoric.

The name of this technology is the 8-word dance city lighting system. The developer is a group of college students from Shanghai University of Engineering and Technology. Their new technology principle is actually a bionic communication communication technology, which mimics the flying mode of the bee's 8-word dance. Among them, the combination of Zigbee technology and ordinary street light control system is an important reason for achieving significant energy saving.

According to Huang Junqing, the project leader and technical engineer, Zigbee technology can accurately monitor each lamp. Due to the different latitude and longitude, the sunrise and sunset times vary from year to year throughout the country, or after 11:00 pm. Zigbee technology can be controlled from the time and brightness of the switch lamp when the traffic volume is greatly reduced, thus saving a lot of power. Zigbee can also be used in systems such as electronic police, electronic alarms, and traffic monitoring.

Huang Junqing said that the street lamps on both sides of the country now consume about 15% of the country's total electricity every year. In the summer when there is insufficient power or energy shortage, many cities have to cut power to save electricity. Therefore, if the project can be widely applied, it will bring great social benefits. For this reason, the project has been approved as the No. 001 and has been approved by the Shanghai Science and Technology Foundation Songjiang Sub-Foundation.

In theory, the application and promotion of this technology is completely achievable. Tang Zhong, dean of the School of Computer and Information Management of Shanghai University of Electric Power, told reporters that for many years, in many cities or rural areas across the country, there was a waste of headlights as a small lamp. Effective control can achieve significant energy savings. Relatively speaking, this technology is not very difficult. Many universities and research institutions are conducting research and development of related products. The key lies in application and promotion. As for comparing this technology with the Three Gorges Hydropower Station, Tang Zhong said: The function of the Three Gorges lies in power supply, which is a thing that cannot be replaced by energy-saving technologies with higher efficiency. However, energy-saving technology is indeed a trend in China's power transformation.

1. Set program: 1 pin is equivalent to 15 minutes. Determine desired start time and push down pins until desired
