According to IC Insights' newly released 2010 global top 20 list of semiconductor suppliers, except for Sony, other players will achieve strong double-digit growth rates this year.

Among the top 20 companies in the IC Insights global list of semiconductor suppliers, there are five memory companies, followed by SAMSung Electronics, Toshiba, Hynix Semiconductor, and Micron. Elpida Memory; Samsung, which ranks second in the world, is likely to go one step further.

IC Insights pointed out that Samsung, which has been a second child for a long time, is expected to take the lead of Intel. In 2009, Intel’s performance was 52% higher than that of Samsung. However, this year, the gap between the two parties may be reduced to 23%.

The foundry industry may also have better performance in the top 20 global semiconductor supplier rankings.
