January-February Chongqing electronic information products import and export increase 6 times "cloud terminal" in-depth

In Chongqing, after the import and export volume of notebook computer-based electronic information products increased rapidly in 2011 and formed a certain scale, it maintained rapid growth in 2012. The three major brands and their affiliates' electronic and information products achieved import and export of US$2.976 billion in January-February, a year-on-year increase of 6 times, of which exports were US$2.022 billion, up 724.8% year-on-year; imports were US$954 million, up 438.6% year-on-year. In January-February, laptop exports reached 1.906 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase of 492.4%, and the number was 5.57 million, a year-on-year increase of 588%.

In January-February 2012, the total import and export of electronic information products nationwide was US$156.1 billion, an increase of 1.9% year-on-year, of which, exports reached US$91.9 billion, an increase of 4.4% year-on-year; imports reached US$64.2 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 1.5%.

At the 2012 China (Chongqing) International Cloud Computing Expo held on March 23rd, Chongqing Mayor Huang Qifan pointed out that currently 92% of foundry companies have settled in Chongqing, such as Foxconn, Quanta, Inventec, etc. Giants, the top ten computer manufacturers also gathered in Chongqing. Last year, Chongqing produced 42 million computers, this year it is expected to reach 50 million, and strive to achieve 60 million units, and next year is expected to reach 70 million, 80 million units of production.

Huang Qifan expects that by 2014, the annual production of laptops in Chongqing will reach 100 million units. “At the same time, Chongqing currently produces 30 million printers and 50 million monitors each year, as well as tablets, mobile phones, servers, routers, switches, etc. This year, a total of more than 100 million devices will be produced in Chongqing. Reached 200 million units."

Huang Qifan said, "Currently, Chongqing's annual terminal production accounts for one-third of the world's total. This degree of professionalism has already formed. If there is a bubble and an accident in Chongqing, then the global cloud terminal market will have problems."
