VR Network was informed that VR social startup VRChat announced a $4 million Series A round of funding led by HTC. The company was founded in 2014 and was one of the first companies to try VR social networking. Before Oculus had yet to be acquired by Facebook, CEO Graham Gaylor started the project at university, about a month later. Gallo met Jesse Joudrey from EA, a veteran of electronic art who joined VRChat as CTO, and they began to brainstorm for future VR social software.
