Inverter maintenance instructions - Solutions - Huaqiang Electronic Network

Photocoupler

With the continuous development of the automation field, the application of the frequency converter has also penetrated into all walks of life. The development of the frequency converter is constantly being introduced, the function is getting larger and larger, and the reliability is correspondingly improved. However, if it is used improperly, the operation is wrong, and the maintenance is not timely, the failure or the change of the operating condition will shorten the service life of the equipment. Therefore, daily maintenance and overhaul work is particularly important.

1, matters needing attention

The operator must be familiar with the basic working principle and functional characteristics of the inverter and have basic knowledge of electrician operation. Before the inverter is inspected and maintained, it must be cut off at the total power supply of the equipment; and when the inverter Chang light is completely extinguished.

2, daily inspection matters

Before the inverter is powered on, the temperature and humidity of the surrounding environment should be detected. If the temperature is too high, the inverter will overheat alarm. In severe cases, the inverter power device will be damaged and the circuit will be short-circuited. If the air is too humid, the inverter will be directly short-circuited. When the inverter is running, pay attention to whether its cooling system is in normal production, such as whether the air duct is smooth or not, and whether the fan has abnormal sound. Generally, inverters with higher protection level, such as: IP20 and above, can be directly installed. The inverters below IP20 should be cabinet-mounted, so the heat dissipation effect of the inverter will directly affect the normal operation of the inverter. Exhaust system, such as whether the fan rotates smoothly, whether the air inlet has dust and obstructions are places that we can not ignore in daily inspection. Whether the motor reactor, transformer, etc. are overheated, have odor; the inverter and the motor are

Whether there is abnormal noise; whether the current display of the inverter panel is too large or the current varies too much.

Output UVW three-phase voltage and current balance.

3, regular maintenance

Clean the air filter to cool the air duct and internal dust. Check whether the screws, panel screws, bolts, and plug-ins are loose. Is there any short-circuit between the ground and the phase-to-phase resistance of the input/output reactor, which should be greater than tens of megaohms? Whether the conductor and the insulator are corroded, if necessary, wipe it with alcohol in time. When conditions permit, use an oscilloscope to measure the smoothness of the voltage output of each circuit of the switching power supply, such as: 5V, 12V, 15V, 24V and other voltages. The method of measuring the waveform of each circuit of the driver circuit is distorted. Whether the UVW phase waveform is a sine wave. Whether there is any ignition mark on the contact of the contactor, it is necessary to replace the new product of the same model or larger than the original capacity; confirm the correctness of the control voltage, perform the sequence protection action test; confirm that the protection display circuit is not abnormal; confirm that the inverter is running separately The balance of the output voltage.

After the maintenance is finished, it is necessary to restore the parameters and wiring of the inverter, and send power. The motor is operated at a low frequency of 3 Hz for about 1 minute to ensure that the inverter works normally.

Regular inspections are recommended and should be done once a year.

Lead Acid vs. Lithium: Safety

Safety is always a primary consideration when designing a solar system, but it becomes even more important when your system is on a boat far from shore, or an RV on a remote road. Different battery chemistries have different risk factors. Obviously, abusing any type of battery can create a dangerous situation. But with normal, and perhaps even a bit of rough treatment, the different batteries have different safety concerns that need to be addressed.

  • Flooded lead acid batteries have an acid and water electrolyte in the battery that has to be checked on a regular basis. During normal charging cycles, this mixture turns into a gas that needs to be vented outside. A buildup of the gas inside a vehicle or vessel can be explosive. Proper ventilation mitigates this concern. The outgassing of the battery is normal, but requires owners to regularly check to see when the electrolyte level gets low from the outgassing. If low, it needs to have more distilled water added. This runs the risk of acid spills if overfilled or overcharged. This requires you to be prepared with proper safety equipment including gloves, safety glasses, and baking soda to neutralize the acid if needed.
  • Sealed lead acid batteries do not have outgassing or electrolyte levels to check, as they do not outgas. Normal battery safety measures should be followed, like checking for tight cable connections, corrosion, and preventing physical damage to the battery itself.
  • Lithium batteries also do not outgas, but certain types (the ones with cobalt, known as lithium cobalt oxide or LCO) can experience thermal runaway – a condition where the battery starts to get hot, which causes it to react to the heat and get hotter and hotter until it catches on fire. LCO batteries are most commonly used in cell phones, hoverboards, and electric cars, and are generally not recommended for mobile applications.
